My First Road Bike Experience

Today was the first time for me on a road bike, and it was AWESOME. I've been riding mountain bikes for a few months now and I really enjoy how it allows you to discover hidden places that you don't see while on the main road, however riding on the road was something I enjoy as well, each has a different joy.

As part of my collaboration with a local Cycling Center in Hurghada I was given the chance to test their brand-new bikes, the plan was to ride 14 Kilometers just to get used to the body position and balance, I end up riding 33 Kilometers in just 1 hour and 12 minutes.

It's really much faster on the road, and the body position takes away a huge part of the wind effect. The hand position on the hoods was a bit strange though, by the end of the ride my Purlicue started to hurt, I think it takes a bit to get used to.

Happy face riding this beautiful super bike.

For the upcoming few weeks I'm going to help the center by riding as a guide for the athletes on active retreats in Hurghada, with the help of a friend I managed to learn the perfect routes for a group ride.

Will I be able to keep up with these professional athletes on the road? That's what I'm going to discover next week.
