My first race

On Friday the 15th, I did my first race ever. I was part of a relay triathlon team doing the olympic distance. My part was finishing the bike course as fast as possible, winning enough time for the runner to push for a ranking. However, 12 hours before the race our runner bailed on us so I had to do the running part as well.

Our swimmer did really great, finishing the course in 21 minutes. After that, I started the cycling course and I really enjoyed every second.

On the last lap, I remembered that I have to finish a 10k run so I decided to take it easy. Finished the distance in 1 hour 31 minutes. I was targeting 1 hour 20 minutes max.

I started the run with funny legs, I was running but my legs were still cycling.

5k into the run and I started to collapse. I was that close to giving up.

I had to slow down and walk several times.

People around was very supportive. However, I was feeling awful and didn't enjoy it that much :)

Finally crossed the finish line after what felt like eternity.

I really enjoyed racing, it's fun to watch and more fun to be part of. I think I'll sign up for all the races in the future, but need to get better in running off the bike :)
